Quick Hazelnut Toffee recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup of toasted chopped hazelnuts.
½ cup of butter.
1 cup of brown sugar, packed.
1 tablespoon of water.
1 tablespoon of hazelnut liqueur.
1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips.
Preparation Instructions:
Line a baking sheet with foil.
Sprinkle ½ cup of the hazelnuts over pan; set aside.
Butter the sides of a heavy saucepan.
Melt the butter; then add the brown sugar and water.
Cook and stir until boiling on medium-to-high heat until a candy thermometer shows 280°F (soft crack stage).
Remove from the heat and stir in the hazelnut liqueur and immediately pour over the hazelnuts in pan.
Sprinkle with the chocolate pieces.
Allow to stand until the chocolate softens, then spread the chocolate over the toffee, topping with remaining hazelnuts.
Refrigerate to harden, then break into pieces and store in airtight container.
